STAFF SPOTLIGHT – JODIE LAVENDER

Jodie joined PiLON in January 2019 as a Project Administrator. Through gaining qualifications alongside proving her abilities and work ethic in her role, she progressed to Commercial Assistant, and now Assistant Quantity Surveyor, playing a vital role in our highly regarded Commercial Team.

Jodie is one of several PiLON employees that was welcomed into our organization with no industry knowledge or experience; Jodie was recruited for her attitude, personal qualities, and evident potential. Alongside her demanding day-to-day duties, Jodie is currently working towards her HNC in Construction and the Built Environment. Jodie’s favourite aspects of her job include seeing a project through from start to completion (and the trials and tribulations in between), and the fact that every day is different. Some days involve burying her head in spreadsheets and figures, while other days are filled with client meetings, and working collaboratively with the team on problem-solving and strategic thinking.

There is no denying that Jodie and the Commercial Team are kept on their toes. PiLON are partnered with over 20 Social Housing providers, including 5 of the G15, so unsurprisingly the biggest challenge involved with Jodie’s role is time management and conflicting deadlines. Despite this, she involves herself with industry events through her participation with WISH (Women in Social Housing). In September 2021, Jodie gave the rest of the PiLON team a run for their money at this year’s Clarion Charity Golf Day.

Jodie works closely with Divisional Manager Matthew McDonough who has helped guide her through her impressive career progression in the last 3 years.
