Last year was one of the most challenging yet rewarding years of my career, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to the last 12 months of triumphs, overcoming challenges, and shaping a brilliant future for PiLON and our employees. 2021 saw PiLON win many awards, and for me, winning SME of the Year and Wellbeing Initiative of the Year are our most honoured achievements. Being recognised for our unique way of working demonstrates our dedication to our staff and our clients, proving that PiLON are a contractor who care.

Last year also saw PiLON expand our workstreams, with excellent results in both Fire safety and Electrical works. Our impressive growth was supported by our bespoke Fire and Electrical applications, for which we thank our talented in-house IT team.

We have continued to recruit strategically, taking risks on talent from outside the sector, and our diverse teams are continually proving their value to us and our customers. Equally, we would not be in the strong position we are without the support of our professional partners. Special thanks are due to our friends at Trowers & Hamlins, our trusted advisors.

Collaboration and Partnership have been ‘buzz words’ throughout the sector, and more so than in any other year since our inception in 2004, PiLON are in a strong position to truly deliver against these objectives. Our Technology Roadmap for the coming years is well underway and will outline for us and our clients how our in-house capabilities are supporting our delivery. Additionally, we are now in a strong position to offer support across our clients’ stock in wider areas of the country with our successful long-term expansion to the Midlands. Above all, it is the securing of long-term contracts which enables us to place collaboration and partnerships at the core of our delivery. Through IT integration, meaningful Social Value initiatives, and investment in sustainable practices, we are shaping a way of working that characterises how PiLON wants to be working now and in the future.

2022 is looking to be a very promising year for PiLON, and it is exciting to see the steady growth of both the business and the talented team behind it.
