As we come to the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an extraordinary 2024 for PiLON. This year marked our 20th anniversary – a significant milestone achieving two decades of growth, resilience, and partnerships. It was also a pivotal year as we proudly joined forces with the United Living Group, aligning our strengths to deliver even greater value to our clients and communities.
We’ve accomplished so much, and we want to share some key highlights from our journey this year.
A Year in Review – 2024 Timeline
January
We started the year strong, winning the NHMF Award for ‘Best Customer Impact’ together with our long-term partners, Southern Housing. This award celebrated our commitment to going above and beyond for the communities we serve.
February
We broadened our operations with the addition of new office locations, bringing our total presence to eight sites across London, the South East, and the Midlands, and enhancing our regional capabilities.
March
We achieved a Distinction in the British Safety Council International Awards, further demonstrating our dedication to maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
April
Our Head of People and Culture, Florentina Dita, won the ‘Rising Star’ award at the AICO Community Awards, a testament to her exceptional contributions to workforce development and driving impactful social value initiatives.
May
We were featured in Housing Executive Magazine, highlighting two decades of innovative approaches to compliance and maintenance. We also celebrated a lighter moment with a win at the World Child Cancer Summer Quiz – something those who have attended will recognise is no easy feat!
July
We proudly promoted Matthew McDonough to Divisional Director, recognising his pivotal role in driving our projects and operations forward.
August
We achieved a huge milestone with our turnover surpassing £50 million, (approx. £60m for the financial year). This milestone reflects not just our growth but also the confidence our clients place in our capabilities.
September
Our Marketing Survey results were a testament to the strength of our relationships with clients. Feedback highlighted our partnering approach, reliable delivery, and dedication to exceeding expectations.
October
We officially became part of the United Living Group. This partnership opens new opportunities for growth and innovation while retaining the values that have defined us for 20 years. We also launched new technology enhancements through PiLLAR 2.0, improving internal processes and service delivery.
November
We were honoured to win the ‘Best Sustainability Initiative’ at the Social Value Leadership Group Awards, further solidifying our role as an industry leader in sustainable practices. November also saw us mark our 20th Anniversary bringing together clients, partners, and sector colleagues to celebrate our journey and look at future ambitions.
December
We marked the year with our annual Christmas party and staff awards, a moment to recognise the outstanding efforts of our team and celebrate a successful year together.
2024 has been a year that has truly showcased what makes PiLON special: our people, our values, and our steadfast commitment to our clients and communities. As we step into 2025, we’re excited to continue building on this momentum, driving innovation, and expanding our service offering to further support the sector.
